Hand dug wells are excavations with diameters large enough to accomodate one or more people with shovels digging down to below the water table.  These wells require hard, continious labor to complete.

This particular well was built by friends of Mission to Liberia, overseen by our local staff member Brima.  This well is vital to the children and staff at the Sunset Foundation school because it is their only clean source of potable water.

In addition to building a well, latrines have also been constructed for the children and staff!

All the hard work

has paid off!

Look at the smiles!
