Mission To Liberia has been the fortunate recipient of several past and current "service Learning projects". We have teamed with students from elementary school to college in various activities to benefit those most in need. I can't tell you how excited we are to have such wonderful students as partners in achieving our goals. Without their help we would not be able to accomplish so many of our objectives.

If you have a desire to conduct a "service learning project" in your classroom, please let us know. We would be glad to come and address all those involved. Together, we can make a difference.

- In 2008, the Sixth Grade students from Rochester Memorial School conducted a town wide children's book drive. They were so successful that I had to finally stop the drive. The students, under the direction of their teacher, Sue Keane, collected THOUSANDS of children's books.
- Students at the Vinson-Owens Elementary School orchestrated a school wide drive to collect sporting equipment for donation to Liberia. Most needed items included soccer equipment.
This year, we have several projects underway.
- Once again, the Sixth Grade students at Rochester Memorial School are committed to making a difference. This year's project is called "Flip Flops and Crocks". The students collected hundreds of shoes for distribution in Liberia. Here they are participating in a Social Studies project at the Northeast Regional conference on the Social Studies at the Park Plaza in Boston.
- Holy Cross, in Worcester Ma, has created a chapter of "Share Our Soles" on campus. Their recent efforts brought in hundreds of shoes from students concerned for the welfare of others.
- Plymouth Public Schools is currently conducting a 7th Grade service project. They are collecting shoes to send to Liberia. The seventh grade teams are enthusiastic regarding this project.
- In Newton, Massachusetts, the 6th grade classes are also collecting shoes for Mission To Liberia. Their project should be coming to a successful conclusion later this month.
